Like Diablo, players will have larger decisions to take in Diablo IV's final game on how to further progress their character. Certain tiles on the Paragon board may benefit some abilities over others, which means even if two players are playing the identical class, the talents and bonuses they've picked to play with on their Paragon boards could be totally different.
"Each one of those squares may be plus five strength or another skill or something that improves your capabilities," Fergusson said. "And this means you'll be able to connect these different boards and design your own pathway through.
This is one of the things we really love about Diablo IV. Even it was the case that Joe and I created a Barbarian and we wanted to both be Whirlwind Barbarians as an example, we could still build completely different models."
After the demise of its director prior to 2021 following various investigations and lawsuits alleging that there was a "frat boy" culture of work within Activision Blizzard, Diablo IV is set to release in 2023. It will also support crossover and progression between PC or consoles. Blizzard recently revealed more details regarding Diablo IV's fifth and final launch class, which is the Necromancer.
